| Not only is Colorado a winter playground with the finest skiing in the world, but it is also a hiker and outdoor lover paradise in the summer. Colorado with its mile high capital has attractions for everyone. For the skier there are the world famous resorts of Vail, Steamboat Springs, and Breckinridge and of course the very world famous ski town of Aspen. Colorado is the heart of the American Rockies with more and higher mountains than anywhere else in the lower 48 states. Great Sand Dunes National Park in its south has some of America’s largest Sand Dunes. A train ride up to the top of Pikes Peak is a must do and you can’t forget about Mesa Verde in the southwestern corner. But to see the finest that Colorado has to offer one has to go the Rocky Mountain National Park outside of Boulder. This is the most spectacular part of the American Rockies. This park has the highest road in the country, taking you up into a tundra environment. Colorado in the summer is a lush green color that many have not seen before. Colorado is famous for its winter, but for those that know, it should more famous for its summer, but that’s a secret. |
